Longshore Sailing School is on its 50th season this summer, and to celebrate, we’re holding a “Retro Day” on Saturday June 20th. The staff will be clad in attire inspired by Longshore’s 1970’s uniforms, and our rental prices will be at a pocket-pleasing-low. All day long, rentals will be 50% off for everyone, every boat, and for any length of time. Come celebrate with us this Saturday at Longshore. Feel free to pull out your jumpsuits and hotpants, but leave the Rollerblades at home.

Congratulations to the students of Women’s Basic Sailing 1 and 2 on completing your course! As one of the instructors for WBS-1 I can honestly say you were all a pleasure to teach. Hopefully we will see you all back and sailing soon! For those of you that are interested, there is a Women’s Sailing Level 2 course this coming week on June 16th & 18th (Tuesday and Thursday) which has three students and one instructor on our high performance boat, the Nomad. There are also Adult Intermediate Sailing classes offered throughout the summer, the first of which begins this coming weekend (June 13-14 & 20-21). Click to register here or give us a call!

Longshore Sailing School is rapidly approaching its first Junior Program session beginning Monday June 15 and ending on June 26. The classes will meet Monday through Friday from 3:30-6:30 pm. The courses being offered are: Start Boating Right (SBR-0), Basic Sailing (BAS-0), and Intermediate Sailing (INT-0). All of these classes still have spaces available, but this might not be the case with later sessions, so take advantage of it now. We’d love to see your kids start their sailing season early! Adult Session 2 courses will begin this weekend. This includes Adult Basic Sailing (ABS-2), Adult Intermediate Sailing (AIS-2), and Adult Advanced Sailing (AAV-2). Each of these courses will occur over two weekends on the Saturdays and Sundays of June 13-14 and June 20-21. ABS-2 and AAV-2 are from 9:30am until 12:30pm, and AIS-2 will be from 3pm-6pm. There is also a Women’s Sailing Level 2 course (WL2) on Tuesday and Thursday of this coming week (June 16&18) which is at 9:30am-12:30pm.

The June 27, 2009 Safe Boating class will be held at Saugatuck Rowing Club in Westport, CT. Class will begin at 9:00 am and last until 5:00 pm. Please bring a pen, pencil, and bagged lunch as we will have a working lunch break.

Saugatuck Rowing Club is located at 521 Riverside Ave in Westport, right off exit 17 of I-95
